Sammy Miller is a native of Bellville, Austin County, Texas, graduated from Bellville High School in May 1973.
Sammy is a retired peace officer, serving 20 years as a constabe for Austin County and six and a half years as a Police Officer for the City of Sealy, prior to becoming a constable. He started his career in Law Enforcement in March 1982
He graduated from Wharton Junior College Police Acamedy, Wharton, Texas in December 1982.
He is married to his business partner, Ruby Josey Miller. They have one son, Sammy Jr., (wife Natashia,) and two adopted daughters, Nicole Miller and Millie Legan.
Sammy is a proud member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Sealy, Texas.
In his spare time he enjoys riding his motorcylce, talking and making people laugh.
Ruby Josey Miller graduated from Sealy High School in 1975. She attended Blinn Junior College with a major in Business, and also attended Houston Community College (HCC) with a major in Real Estate. Ruby is currently attending Amarillo College with a major in Mortuary Science. She completed her internship at Dixon Funeral Home of Brazoria, Texas, under the leadership of the late Mr. Robert Dixon, and Ms. Tina Dixon. In February of 2009 she received her license as a Provisional Funeral Director.
Ruby Josey Miller graduated from Amarillo College December 10, 2010 and passed the Mortuary Law exam on January 28, 2011 and passed the Texas State Board Examination on February 22, 2011.
March 1, 2011 Ruby Josey Miller receive her Funeral Director's License.
Ruby has worked for the Austin County Courthouse as a Secretary for the Extension Agent from 1975 to 1978. In 1978 to 2009, she worked with the Texas Department of Public Transportation as an Office Administrator Assistant. During this time she took a state test and received her license as a Certified Texas Purchaser. She retired in June of 2009 after 31+ years.
She is married to her business partner, Sammy Miller, Sr. They have one son, Sammy Jr., (wife Natashia) and two adopted daughters, Nicole Miller and Millie Legan. She is also a members of Bethel Baptist Church is Sealy, Texas.
In her spare time she loves to travel to different places and read books.
Barry A. Wright, a native of Brenham, graduated from Brenham High School in 1980. He began his funeral career in 1975 with the Taft Harris Funeral Home in Brenham, as a funeral attendant. He recevied his funeral education from Commonwealth College of Mortuary Science and received his Funeral Director/Embalmer licenses in 1983.
He is a member of Katy Church of Christ in Katy, Texas. He and his wife, Yvette, have two children, B. Andre' II and Dionna.
Sammy is a Associate, husband, father, philanthropist, and accountant. A native of Sealy, Texas and a proud graduate od Texas A&M University '00 (College Station, Texas); Sammy now calls Houston, Texas home.
Sammy has been around the family business fro many years. Helping his parents parents when needed.
Sammy is a member of Wheeler Ave. Baptist Church and a parishioner at St. Annw Catholic Church. He is married to Natashia Davis Miller, and father to Sammy Miller, III and Sam-Marie Miller.
In his spare time, he enjoys Texas Aggie Foortball, tailgating, traveling and helping his parents in the funeral business.
Natashia is a associate, wife, mother, philanthropist, and sales professional.
A native of Dallas, Texas and a proud graduate of Texas A&M University '00 (College Station, Texas); Natashia now calls Houston, Texas home.
Natashia earned her Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in Funeral Services (AAS) from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services in 2014 with a National Honor Society designation.
Natashia's Apprenticeship and Provisional License experience were acquired under the leadership at both George H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors (Houston, Texas) and Miller-Josey Mortuary (Bellville, Texas).
Natashia is a member of Wheeler Ave. Baptist Church and a parishioner at St. Anne Catholic Church.
Natashia is married into the family business, and wife to Sammy Lee Miller, Jr., and the mother to Sammy Lee Miller, III and Sam-Marie Miller.
In her spare time, she enjoyes reading, crafting, traveling and helping with the family business.
Nicholas J. Anderson is a native of Bellville, TX. He is the son of the late Clara M Anderson. He is a graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School.
He is currently pursing his degree in Criminal Justice and is currenty becoming a licensed Funeral Director. He serves the great state of Texas as a Correctional Officer. He also serves Miller-Josey Mortuary as the Director of Family Affairs.
Nicholas is a member of Spirit Of The Word Church under the leader of Apostle Dr. Derek Cooper. In his free time he loves spending time with his friends, family and spending time with his little sisters Breanna and Beyonce.
Darron was born and raised in Bryan, Texas. He is a graduate of Bryan High School. Shortly after graduating from high school here located to Brenham Texas as a career move; where he served as a manager of a fast food franchise for 7 years. Later he was employed by the Brenham Independent School District for 7 years and he is now currently employed with the Brenham National Bank of Brenham for 17 years
When he is not working at his regular job at the bank, you might find Darron sharing information about Miller-Josey Mortuary in Bellville, Texas.
Darron is the husband of Wanda Dianne Lott Smith of 22years. They are blessed with two wonderful sons; Dairius and Steven Smith and a niece Shenearia Lott that they are raising.
Darron has been an active and well-known public servant of Washington County. He has served on many committees throughout the community as well as served as the Washington County Historical Juneteenth Association President for 7 years and is currently holding the Vice President position.
Darron is a member of the Champion Fellowship Church, Brenham, Texas where he serves as Chairman of Deacons.
Darron and Wanda have truly been blessed in their lives and look forward to much more to come.
We are elated to have Mr. Smith to join us at Miller-Josey stated Sammy Miller, owner of Miller-Josey Mortuary and we are looking forward to working with him.
Darron is no stranger to the funeral industry. He will be joining funeral director Barry Wright and director Angela Lacy McGinty, both whom he has worked in the past.
Desani is a freshman at Sealy High School. She enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, singing and listening to music. Desani is a member
of Bethel Baptist Church of Sealy, Texas and sings in the choir.
Desani loves meeting and greeting the people and attending to their needs.
Desani is the daughter of Millie Legan and the granddaughter of Sammy and Ruby Miller.
