Obituary for Ruby Johnson

On Monday, February 11, 2019, God decided to bring another angel home. Ruby Jean Thomas Johnson transitioned from this life to enter into eternal rest with the Lord.

On March 4, 1938, Ruby was born to the parentage of the late Reverend Charlie and Elsie Keener Thomas. She began her life journey in Austin County, Bellville, Texas.

At an early age Ruby along with her parents and siblings moved to Houston, Texas. She attended Jack Yates High School. She was employed as a “car hop” waitress at the Lincoln Drive Inn. Later she began her career in the nursing field. Ruby received her GED and graduated from Cosmetology School in Houston, Texas. She later received her license as a cosmetologist instructor and began teaching in her field. In her later years he was a homemaker.

Ruby later moved back to Bellville, where she met and married Allred Boson Sr. and to this union they were bless with five children; John Wesley, Ja’on Michelle, Allred Norman Jr. Dessiree Barbette and Deneise Paulette Boson. On September 18, 1978, she met and married Milton Johnson until his demise. There were no children born of this union.

She confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of the local Methodist Church in Bellville, Texas and later transitioned to the Baptist faith. At the time of her transition she was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Michael W. Barber where she served faithful until her health began to fail.

Ruby possessed a very quiet and demeanor spirit. She had a smile that instantly made everyone she met feel warm and loved. Her soft spoken voice had an impact that would gain the respect from her professional peers and everyone who had the privilege of being in her presence. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a giver and loved giving to her family and friends. She had so much love in her heart that was truly from on high.

Waiting for her at heavens gates: husband,- Milton Johnson, Father-Reverend Charlie Mother- Elise Thomas, three children, John Wesley, Allred “little AJ”, Jr., Dessiree Boson, four sisters, Selann Givens, Lillie Brown, Thelma Harris, Edna Jackson, four brothers, Charlie, Jr., Ager Lee, Wyatt, Gardner and Samuel Thomas.

In God’s care she leaves to cherish her memories; two daughters, Ja’on and Deneise Boson, Bellville, Texas; three granddaughters, Erica and Jessica Boson and LaTisha Martin, five grandsons, Johm Wesley, Allred Haynes, Jimmy Ray Holmes Jr. David Vaughn “heavy”, and Nasen, two sisters; Joyce Griffin and Shirley Risper of, Houston, Texas, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of loving relatives and friends.

“We want to thank you “Mom” for being a wonderful mother, rest in peace; you’re now in the arms of Jesus.”
