Obituary for Delores Wright

Delores Wright was given the gift of life in 1940, but has now given it back. After a long and fulfilling life, Delores passed away at peacefully in her sleep at Brookshire Residence and Rehab, Brookshire, Texas.

She was the youngest and only girl born to Tully and Lillian Spencer Evans. After graduating from Pickard High school in 1958, Delores married her high school sweetheart, Robert Gene on May 23, 1964. To this union were born two children, John Ethan and Lillian Alene.

Delores was a force for good in her community; a well-known figure who touched and enriched countless lives. For numerous years she was a volunteer for the Pink Ladies at Trinity Medical Center, a H.O.S.T. mentor at Alton Elementary School, and a member of the Fortnightly Club of Brenham.

A woman of deep faith and conviction, Delores was a member of Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, Deaconess, and sang in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ernest James, Tullie, Cecil and Reginald Evans, and granddaughter Rachael Alexandria Marshall.

Delores would like to let you know that her work here is done. She has accepted a new mission. One that includes a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Love and laughter will be in abundance.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 53 years, Robert Gene; son John (Mitsy); daughter Lillian (Fred); grandchildren, the Magnificent Seven, Kyan, Miriam-Ann, Sean and Jordan Wright and Ethan, Leah and Aiden Marshall all of Brenham; sister-in- laws Bettie J. Evans of Indianapolis, IN; Erma J. Evans and Betty Hall (Clarence) of Houston; Alice Wright, Michele Daniels (Nelson) of Brenham; brother-in- laws Doug Wright (Gail) of Huntsville and

Barry Wright (Yvette) of Katy; her best friend of over 70 years, Elsie Callier; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
