Obituary for Alberta Broussard

Mrs. Alberta Houston Broussard was born March 1, 1948, in Bellville, Texas to the late Mr. Tommie Houston, Sr., and Mrs. Sadie Mae Houston. She was the 2nd of 7 children.

Mrs. Broussard attended Grants W. Burleigh and Brooks Elementary Schools in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Austin County High School in 1966, Sealy, Texas where was a cheerleader.

Alberta married Wilbert Kesee Sr., in 1966. To the union four children were born, plus one more he helped raised as his own; they were known as the fantabulous five. In 1990, she married Charles Broussard and no children were blessed to this union.

Her Christian faith was very important to her which she demonstrated by attending church services at Samuel Chapel AME and Jackson Chapel AME and later making Historic Allen Chapel AME her church home, where she was a member for over 30 years. As a member of Historic Allen Chapel AME. Ms. Broussard served in many roles, to include church secretary, choir president and president of the Stewardess Ministry

Alberta was loved and adored by all who she encountered. The faith that she had in God was displayed through the way she lived, loved, taught and testified to others the goodness of the Lord and all that he had done for her. Her spirit was so welcoming. She would always say to those who were going through troubling times that This Too Shall Pass and when she was making a presentation she would always begin by saying I will Bless the Lord at All Times. She was more than just a wife, mother and grandmother; she leaves a legacy of love, kindness and warmth.

In life Alberta worked for the Bellville Independent School District for 42 years in different capacities. She loved working with children and was known by the students as Coach B. Alberta also worked for Diggs Funeral Home, Bellville, Texas and later worked as a funeral associate with Miller-Josey Mortuary, Bellville, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Broussard, two sisters, Bobbie Mahon, Mildred Houston, daughter, Diane Earthman, four nephews, Andre Green, Rodrick Houston, Edward Mahon and Terrell Houston, grandsons, Broderick Smith, Sr., Charles Dontae Cooper and great grandson, Kash Cooper.

She leaves to carry forth her legacy; two sons, Wilbert (Ginger) Kesee, Jr., Houston, Texas, Robert (Charlene) Kesee, Las Vegas, Nevada, two daughters; Yolanda Smith of Brenham, Texas, Nina (Brandon) Kesee, Bellville, Texas; six brothers, Tommie (Joyce) Houston, Jr., Dallas, Texas,Wayne (Karen) Houston, Charles (Jackie) Houston, Robert (Christy) Houston, Willie (Carolyn) Houston, Bellville, Texas, Donald (Rose) Nunn; Sealy, Texas; one sister, Sandra Houston, Alanta Georgia, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, special friends, Doris Cloud, Lynette Traylor, Joyce L Houston, Peggy Ann Johnson and a host of family members and friends.
