On January 26,1940 a baby girl was born to the late Mr. Gus and Mrs Annie Odems Burton in Buckhorn (Bellville) Texas. They named her Maggie.
Ms. Maggie DaBera was raised in the community of Buckhorn, located in Bellville, Austin County, Texas. She worked as a housekeeper.
On Sunday, August 22,2010, while at Scott and White Hospital, God saw a need to dispatch his angel to Ms. Dabera, to relieve her from her pain and suffering.
Funeral service for Ms. Maggie L. DaBera of Chappell Hill, Texas will be held on Saturday August 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 204 Kerr Street, Brenham, Texas
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from the Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church, 204 Kerr St. Brenham, Texas.
Ms. Maggie DaBera is survived by her loving children: four sons; Raymond (Cheryl) DaBera, Johnnie (Vera) DaBera, Eddie DaBera all of Chappell Hill and Columbus DaBera of Brenham, Texas and three daughters; Luceill (Robert) Lewis of Brenham,Texas, Minnie DaBera and Pearl DaBera of Chappell Hill, Texas, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Active Pallbearers: Mr. Raymon Wright, Mr. Steven Kendrick, Mr. Fletcher DaBera, Mr. Nick Kennerson, Mr. Jonathan Charles DaBera and Mr. Joshus DaBera.

Mr. Terrelle LeRay Houston was born on October 10, 1987 to Sonda R. Neal (deceased) of Hempstead, Texas and Willie Lee Houston of Bellville, Texas.
He attended and graduated from Hempstead High School. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, which he had recently reaffirmed his faith in Christ.
Terrelle departed this life on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Bellville General Hospital in Bellville, Texas.
The visitation was held at Miller-Josey Mortuary, 428 West Meyer St. Bellville, Texas Monday June 14, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
Servce for Mr. Terrelle LeRay Houston was held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Belthaem United Methodist Church, 715 Eight Street Hempstead, Texas. He will lie in state from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. The Reverend J. Kabamba Kiboko will be Officiating.

Mr. Anthony James Seals Jr.

Mr. Anthony James Seals, Jr. was born on March 29, 1934 to his loving parents, the late Mr. Anthony James Seals, Sr. and the late Mrs. Estella Reese Seals. Mr. Seals was the eldest of five boys and one girl. He was raised in the Buckhorn Community, Bellville, Texas. He attended the Spicer Elementary School in Bellville and the Austin County High in Sealy, Texas. He graduated from Austin County High in 1955.
On July 28, 1956 Anthony married the love of his life Mrs. Bobbie Lois Green Seals. They were blessed with 3 wonderful children.
Mr. Seals confessed in Christ at an early age at Samuel Chapel A.M.E. Church in the Buckhorn Community. Later in life Mr. Seals united with the Historic Allen A.M.E. Church in Bellville, Texas, where he served faithfully until his health declined him. Anthony was active in his church. He served on the Stewart Board and song in the choir and with the male chorus and helped where ever he was needed.
Mr. Seal's heart was filled with much joy when he witnessed the graduation of his grandson Jamal Jones from Sealy High School who is now attending the University of Houston. He also loved to watch his youngest grandson Ricky play varsity football and basketball as a freshman at Sealy High School which reminded him of his son who preceded him in death. He also loved the football games and driving the band bus on Friday nights.
In 1956 Anthony entered into the U. S Army. He retired from the army in 1979 after serving his country for twenty three years. Upon retiring from the U.S. Arm Service, Anthony went to work at the Bellville Tube in Bellville as a truck driver until he retired in 2006. He also had a passion for ranching and raising cattle.
Anthony leaves to cherish his wife Bobbie Lois Green Seals, son Kenneth W. Seals (Carolyn), daughter Buffy Seals- Jones (Chester ), grandchildren Jamal Jones –U.H Houston, Roderick Ricky Seals Jones –Sealy, Antonisha Jones, Sister Shirley F Seals Cockrell- Houston, Elmer Seals (Faye), Ray Ezell Seals (Shirley), Richard Seals( Audry), Houston Texas, Archie Seals (Earnestine) Bellville Texas Extended Family Erick Dickerson, Nephew and Penny Sutton daughter Keri of Los Angeles , Ca. Rhonda Campbell and Jeral Jackson of Sealy and host of special and nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends.
He is proceeded in death by both parents and son, Roderick "Ricky" Seals.
Service was held for Mr. Anthony James Seals, Jr. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Sealy Independent School District, Junior High Auditorium, 939 Tiger Lane, Sealy, Texas. Visitation was held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the Historic Allen AME Church, 704 West Carver, Bellville, Texas

Mr. Abelardo P. Ceballos was born to the late Gregorio and Maria Magdelena in Seguin,Texas. He grew up in Seguin. Later in life, Mr. Ceballos move to Bellville, Austin County, Texas
Mr. Ceballos spent most of his adult life working in construction. He worked a numbers of years for the E H Winn Construction Company in Bellville, Texas.
Mr. Abelardo Ceballos is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Gregorio and Maria Magdelena P. Ceballos and one son, Abel Sauceda.
Mr. Ceballos leaves to morn his death, four sons, Joe, Abel, Gregory and Ralph Ceballos, four daughters, Mary Juarez, Amalia Ceballos, Defina Sanchez and Michelle Velazquez.
Service was held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from the Miller-Josey Mortuary Chapel, located at 428 West Meyer, Bellville, Texas, with the Reverend Eric Pitre officiating.

On December 2, 1928 in Sealy, Texas a beautiful baby girl was born to Thomas and Ella Mae Flakes. They named this precious child Emma Novella.
As a child, Novella grew up in Sealy and the surrounding areas. She attended school in Sealy. Novella confessed her belief in Christ at a early age. Raised in a christian family, she attended church where ever she lived. Upon returning to Sealy, she resumed her membership at Cole Chapel United Methodist Church and remained there until her health failed.
Novella was loved by ever one who knew her inspite of being very strong willed and vocal. She loved to sew, watch television and spend time outdoors. She was slow to smile, but deep down inside she had a big heart.
Novella departed her earthly life's burdens on Monday, April 19, 2010 at her home in Sealy, Texas. She is preceded in death by both parents; Thomas and Ella Flakes; three sibling, Samuel Dabney, Tommie Mae Ames and and Edorth C. Flakes.
She leaves to cherish the memories of her life; her children, Lettie Clark (David), Rubert Ray Flakes, Clementine Harrell, Clifford Watson (Sandy) and Torshia Watson; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Peace; one sister-in law, Jessee Dabney and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service for Ms. Emma Novella Watson was held on Saturday, April 24, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Cole chapel United Methodist Church, 438 San Felipe Road, Sealy, Texas, with the Reverend Steffon Arrington officiating.

On Friday, March 19, 2010, God saw a need to call Bettye home. Bettye is preceded in death by both parents, Mark and Minnie Mae Stephens and daughter, Wilma Phillips.
Bettey is survived by her granddaughter, Marcella Stephens, Two sisters, Wilma Hargrove and Mary Wilson, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives.

Ms. Vera Mae Davis

In the year of 1949, June 23, a baby girl was born to Elige and Lillie Davis. They name her Vera. Vera grew up in New Ulm, Texas and attended Bethune Elementary in Industry, Texas and spent her high school years at Sealy and Bellville. She continued her education at Blinn Junior College in Brenham, Texas where she received her Associate Degree.
At an early age she began to attend the Church of God of Prophecy of New Ulm.
Upon her graduation from Blinn Junior College Vera Moved to Houston, Texas. She began her career of working in the insurance industry when she became employed by the prudential Insurance Company of America. After fifteen years of service at Prudential, Vera continued her journey up the corporate ladder and joined the workforce at the Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company (VALIC). Her career at VALIC spanned over twenty years until she resigned due to illness.
Vera was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Although she had no children by birth, she was a special "Auntie" to her nieces and nephews. She lavished them with love and affection while spoiling them with the purchases she made on her frequent shopping trips. Among her favorite pastimes were: traveling, browsing the malls and spending time with family and friends. She traveled extensively both for business and pleasure. She derived extreme pleasure from planning family vacations and excursions.
Vera departed this earthly life on Monday, March 10, 2010. She was preceded in death by her father Elige Davis, Sr, grandparents, Bennie and Lillie Williams and Richard and Betty Davis and nephew Nicholas Davis.
Vera leaves to cherish her memory, her loving mother, Lillie Mae Davis of New Ulm, Texas, her brother, Elige Davis, Jr. (Kethree), of Houston, Texas, her sister Linda Madison (Larry) of New Ulm, Texas, her devoted and special friend of many years, Henry Brown, Houston, Texas, nieces and nephews, Kemba Davis Griggs (Derrick), Natasha Madison, Tarik Madison, William Davis (Michelle), Jzhavatnie Vaughn-Davis, Treasure Davis, Jordon Davis, Zion Davis, Alric Davis, Isaiah Madison, Gavin Griggs, Canaan Griggs and a host of other relatives and friends.

Alice Faye was born July 3, 1947 to the late Joe and Ida Mae Cruise. She attended the public schools in Sealy, Texas.
In 1967 she met and married the late Landris Seymore, Jr. Two sons and two step sons were blessed to this union.
On November 8, 1991, Alice Faye married Howard Odell Basey. Two step daughters were blessed to this union, Oberta Basey and Oletha Basey.
Alice Faye is preceeded in to death by both parents, Joe and Ida Mae Cruise, grandparents, Volley and Eddie Lee Gentry, husband, Landris Seymore, Jr. and son, Landris Seymore.
She leaves to mourn her devoted husband, Howard Odell Basey, four sons, Lee Cruise, Joe Cruise, Volley Seymore and Akire Freeman, God son, Jermaine Brown. Daughters and daughters in-law, La Quinda, Quavalinta, Patricia, Felicia, Kimberly, Melanie, Lorette and Tara. Three brothers , Gerald Wayne Cruise, Eddie Basey and Lonnie Jones. One sister, Arvis Barber, one great aunt, Willie Mae Harris, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host os nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The late Lawrence and Mary Rankin Page welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Francine Page, into the world on March 7, 1934, in Seminary, Mississippi.
Ms. Francine Page recently moved to Wallis, Texas from Inwood, New York. While in New York she was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church under Pastor Gregory K, Stanislaus. Since moving to Texas, Ms. Page was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Wallis, Texas.
For years Sis. Francine Page worked as a wonderful home health care nurse.
Ms. Francine Page was welcomed by her Lord on February 1, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. Lawrence and Mary Page.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church in Sealy, Texas with Rev. Charles B. Frazier officiating.
Active Pallbearers were Johnnie Hall, Levester Hall, Larry Scyrus, and Kermit Garner.
Interment followed at Ward Bend Cemetery in Sealy, Texas.

Mrs. Jessie Mae Oliver

On March 27, 1925, the late James and Willie Mae Clark were blessed with a baby girl whom they named Jessie Mae.
Jessie Mae grew up in the Simonton area and attended public school.
Jessie Mae confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Sam Banks of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church of Simonton, Texas and later in life she moved her membership to St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the present leadership of Rev. Bennie R. Paul of Simonton, Texas.
Jessie Mae met and married Elbert Oliver, Sr. and eight children blessed this union.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, two children, Linda Ray McDade and Elbert Oliver, Jr., one grandson, Terry Stevenson, Jr., four brothers and two sisters.
Sister Oliver leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters; Jessie Faye Oliver of Simonton, Texas, Betty Jo Vaughn (Norman) of Brookshire, Texas, Lula Oliver of Rosenberg, Texas, Alice Taylor of Simonton, Texas; two sons; Maureece Oliver (Mae Jo) and Elreece Oliver all of Simonton, Texas, one step son Doyal Knapp (LaShan) of Wallis, Texas, one Son-in-law, Charles Ray McDade, of Minnesota. Sister Oliver also leaves to mourn her passing twenty Grandchildren and thirty Great-grandchildren, two sisters; Lillian Chase and Mattie Kenndy, one brother; Charlie (CL) Clark, three special friends; Willie Lee, Ms. Doris Murrell, and Faye Connor, and a host of nieces, nephews and many sorrowing friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 16, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Simonton Community Church in Simonton, Texas with Rev. Bennie Paul officiating.
